FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Anna Grumm

Uncategorized

This week’s Fashionista is a RMIT University project management student who has a passion for styling and is always up for a good fashion adventure. She loves indie styles and is definitely a free spirit when it comes to styling and mixing up trends like denim and florals, with an edgy touch of biker boots or the hippie band. She loves being able to communicate with fashion and believes no one can stop her never-ending love for fashion and specifically, floral prints.

Name: Anna Grumm

Major: Project Management

Year: First

CollegeFashionista:  Which trend do you love the most now and why?

Anna Grumm: I really love vintage trends. It is definitely a trend that is always refreshing and modern as long as you play your vintage outfit up with modern accessories.

CF: Do you love dressing up? How do you usually feel?

AG: I love stepping out of my comfort zone to experiment with different styles. Dressing up for me gets super time consuming everyday but it’s worth it because I gain confidence and have loads of fun at the same time. I feel on cloud nine without a doubt.

CF: When did you realize that your passion and love for fashion had developed?

AG: I think I’ve always had this passion. Since young I always loved dolling up and I loved it when nana used to pass me her vintage oversized dresses and rustic costume jewelry. I had pearls and suede brown satchel bags on me at such a young age. Maybe that’s the reason why I love bags (laughs)!

CF: What inspires your fashion?

AG: I think I tend to get inspired by my fellow peers in university. I must say people on campus really do shine in their outfits and I tend to visualise myself in someone’s outfit that I like, and how I’ll make it individualized according to my comfort and style.

CF: If you had to pick a favorite piece of clothing or accessory, what would it be?

AG: Well if I really had to choose something…this is hard! How could anyone choose? I guess I’ll stick to my biasness of bags. I have my favourite classic Chanel quilted handbag passed down from my mother. I love it and treasure it dearly not just because it's Chanel! But also because it’s such a versatile bag and I love how amazing it complements majority of outfits.

CF: Where do you see yourself in the future in fashion?

AG: I would love to be working in the fashion or arts industries where I’ll manage my own projects and produce the best fashion shows and productions. I know in my everyday routines as well, fashion will be a tangible part of my life forever. I’ll breathe fashion if I have to! (Laughs)

How To: Now in order to get Anna's look, flowery denim like hers can be easily found at General Pants and Glue Store with a wide range of dark or pastel coloured denims in different floral designs. If you're feeling more flirty and adore floral prints as much as Anna, try on a beautiful floral frock with a twist of digital prints, and match them up with a pair of comfortable Doc Martens in all shades and tones. Remember to explore their Brogues as well and lastly! Accessorise your heart out with chunky layers of bracelets and cuffs, as well as a good old bag. To get an identical one like Anna, I would suggest investing in Alexander Wang's edgy studded Rocco Duffle or perhaps a simple Cambridge Satchel as well. Either way, both bags are arm candies and till then, just have fun and express yourself confidently!
