ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: Multicoloured Manis

Uncategorized

Long-gone are the days where you choose one colour for both your manicure and pedicure. We are a generation sporting all things different and unique. Nail art is one way in which we can express ourselves. We choose our nail varnish to complement our moods, our outfits and our passions. There are many nail products on the market today with infinite possibilities for self-expression. This Fashionista has used a select palette of navy blue, sky blue, spearmint green and lavender. And notice she hasn’t followed a strict colour-order, i.e. ‘blue, green, blue, green…’ this simple trick adds quirkiness and individuality to the look.

So try this out yourselves. I recommend choosing no more than four colours for this look, so you can ensure you see each colour two to three times on your ten digits. You can choose to use a variation pallete of the same colour, for example; light pink, medium pink, dark pink. You can choose colours that are adopted from an inspirational place; for example if you want to look down at your hands and be reminded of a sunny beach, you could have a light and dark blue to resemble the ocean and a pale yellow to represent the sand. This look is all about self-expression, and the colours you choose should be inspirational and thought-provoking to you personally.

I have come up with my own favourite combination, taken from the OPI range. I would intertwine between Strawberry Margarita, Tutti Frutti Tonga, DS Bold and Fly. This combination incorporates my love of the colour pink and a little unexpected pop of blue and glitter for fun. Extra hint: for those of us notorious nail-biters, Shellac is a great alternative to regular nail polish as it has more strength and durability, ultimately promoting nail growth. So go forth and express yourself!
