I'll be honest right from the get go. Not all of us are blessed with imperfection-free and flawless skin. Let's blame hormones and all those other annoying bodily functions for that. However, help is here! There are hundreds of products on the market that can assist with clearing up you skin. Proactiv, Pura Skin and Clearasil are just a few. Diet and lifestyle can play a major part in this too. It's common knowledge that a healthy diet consisting of lots of water, friut and vegetables offers a healthy glow, while regular exercise makes you feel better from the inside out. When you feel good about yourself, it shows, and you are instantly beautiful!
But, breakouts do happen and sometimes we just want to cover them up! Concealer is the god-sent solution for inconsistency and blemishes on the skin. But with so many colors and textures available, how is one to know which is the right concealer for covering up? Not to fear, help is here! If you have dark circles under your eyes or unsightly eye-bags from staying up all night studying, you are going to want to use a thick, yellow-based concealer as a base for your foundation. Orange-based concealers are best for those Fashionistas with dark skin tones. If you want to hide red areas or skin conditions such as rosacea, you should apply a green-based concealer sparingly. To cover up blemishes and pimples, you should generally go for a concealer that is as close as possible to your natural skin color. And to highlight areas such as your cheek bones or under your brow, use a concealer a shade or two lighter than your foundation, so it adds light to your face. I can’t really recommend specific concealers with this week’s advice because concealer is definitely a try-before-you-buy product. It is important you match your skin tone correctly. However, a few of my favorites are Select Cover Up and Studio Sculpt Concealer by MAC, and Maybelline's green and yellow Cover Stick Corrector Concealer.
No matter what your face throws at you, you can still look flawless and beautiful with just a little help. Try focusing on perfecting the skin on your face and applying a little mascara and lip gloss. It is an ultra confidence boost when you feel like you can leave the house truly wearing the natural look because your skin is faultless!
