Many people can stand in a shopping mall and look at a piece of clothing and automatically rule it out. People claim by just staring at a garment, they can determine its soul feel. That jean button-up shirt laying face up on the display table can be apparently acclaimed by prepesters, really? This tall tale is astronomically wrong!
The new rule when shopping is don’t let the face of a piece fool you, it’s all about how you pair it. One identity is the rule of style; here it’s as equivalent of the jean jacket. This piece can be worn by someone and look hip and country, or it be worn to match grueling grunge. So once you picked an item to wear find the correlating pieces that go with it to help portray your image whether it is goth, punk, prep, indie and even nerd chic.
This Fashionisto seamlessly paid pristine attention to pairing, with a denim-button up and black skinny jeans. Though some may opt to skip over the denim on denim trend, he nailed it by using different hues. Then what seems to be the sturdy staple by all men is the black hoodie. Sequentially by adding his dad’s vintage leather vest over the shirt, it starts to sculpt the outfit’s demeanor, which gives it sort of a clean cut punk feel. The core pieces being the shirt and jeans are vital but, the hoodie and leather vest that really made the entire look come to life. Nothing makes a louder statement then a pair of well love sneakers that say what you truly love.
After snapping a picture of this Fashionisto, I was very curious about what cultivated his style inspirations, and what never fails is pulling from the past. The vintage vest itself had a story to be told, that it was once worn by his father and the well loved shoes give a vibrant beat that he may be a boarder. The ultimate truth is your past is your strong hold, your knowledge for style and whether you like it or not, it makes your pairing choice evident.
My Fellow Fashionisto’s never judge a garment by its cover. Step back and think of your pairing options and how you can make it fit into your wardrobe, before calling a hasty judgment. Remember, cultivate your style!
