Hi! My name is Cate Jensen. I’m a sophomore at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and majoring in Writing and Rhetoric. I have loved fashion since I was a little girl, being dubbed a “clothes horse” by my family. I’m usually the one my friends come to when they don’t know what to wear or want something to borrow. It has always been flattering and part of the reason why I decided to apply for an internship with CollegeFashionista this past fall.
I am a city girl through and through. I’m honored to call D.C. my hometown. Although I love the city, I really enjoy going to college in smaller town with a slower pace to it but with a campus full of 16,000 plus people, the fashion doesn’t stop.
My style is preppy chic and usually more traditional. I tend to stick to more classic pieces but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to throw a few trends in there from time to time. Some of my favorite designers are Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, Nicole Miller and Judith March. However, my favorite place to shop is vintage and consignment stores for all the gems you can find! Some of my favorite celebrity styles are Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively, Rachel Bilson and even Kate Middleton.
I’m happy to be returning this spring as one of the five Style Gurus here at JMU. I couldn’t be more excited for this semester!
