ACCESSORIES REPORT: Heads Up!

Accessories Report

When it comes to accessories we must all remember that is it not just about our jewelry, shoes and handbags. A well accessorized Fashionista such as this one, goes above (literally) and beyond in accessorizing her outfit with a headband.

This accessory brings stereotypes along with it. The soccer mom wears them to her tennis match or that teacher you didn’t like in high school always wore them. Now, for me headbands were an item I wore as a little girl. But in recent seasons, headbands have made a comeback and are bigger and better than ever. With many different styles to choose from now, both traditional and unconventional, those old stereotypes are left in the dust.

This Fashionista’s headband breaks those stereotypes all on its own. The headband has a classic navy bow design but adds a twist with the zipper. It is a perfect example of old headpiece styles meeting new. If you are looking for a statement headband, then try a large patterned headwrap such as this one from Anthropologie as a fabulous option.
However, if you are a Fashionista looking to wear a headband on a night out of the town then you can’t go wrong with a glitzier style like this one from South Moon Under. If you are looking for a vibrant headband without appearing too over the top, the peacock feather style just might be for you. Even though these types of headbands feature vibrant colors, the style is sophisticated enough to wear to work or class but also showy enough to wear out at night (a wonderful day to night accessory for any Fashionista). These headpieces are worth taking a look at Fashionistas! There comeback isn't over just yet.

Spotted: Elegant headbands make their way into Oscar De La Renta, Caroline Herrera, and Tory Burch's fall/winter 2012 collections.
