Here in Virginia, our winter has become more of an early spring with mild temperatures instead of the frigid ones we are used to. When weather like this comes around, every Fashionista/o puts away their parkas. As Cheryl Frasier says in Miss Congeniality “all you need is a light jacket.” Truer words have never been spoken.
This week’s Fashionista is no exception to this rule with her military-esque downtown field jacket from J.Crew. The olive-brown makes this jacket extremely versatile, allowing it to complement many color combinations. Since it is not a heavy jacket, its perfect for mild day but can easily be layered for when the weather turns colder, especially around nighttime. This Fashionista pairs the jacket with another great accessory: Frye riding boots. Her jacket and riding boots help to create a polished and sophisticated look. She has another wonderful accessory, a colorful scarf, to pull together a well-rounded ensemble.
In terms of jackets, I am a bit of an enthusiast but have yet to find that perfect one for the spring season. I’ve seen many different styles of jackets all over campus from the classic Barbour jacket to funky colored blazers to the regular jean jacket on these last few spring days.
