FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Erica Cheung

Uncategorized

On a sunny but windy day, I spotted this unique Fashionista, Erica, looking light and fresh in her mix 'n match outfit.   What I love is the contrast and effect of her styling choices.  She downplays the sweetness of the delicate white dress by wearing an oversized button-up shirt and makes peep-toe heels casual for school by pairing them with scrunchy gray socks. Her sheer patterned tights add extra detail and her big, colorful bag livens up the look. Altogether, her outfit is neither too girly nor obviously trendy. I am truly inspired by it and hopefully you are, too!  Read more about Erica's style below.

Name: Erica Cheung

Year: Sophomore

Major: Journalism/Gender & Sexuality

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?

Erica Cheung: Basically all over the place, whatever I’m feeling on a particular day. I’m really hoping for spring to come soon, so I’m wearing lace and tights and just a lot of layering.

CF: What influences your style?

EC: Lots of things. I’m not sure anything in particular…just basically what’s going on in fashion and during the season.

CF: Do you have a go-to store when shopping?

EC: I shop at Buffalo a lot, just ‘cause they have a lot of different kinds of styles. Urban sometimes…everywhere!

CF: What’s your favorite trend for spring?

EC: 70’s! Clogs, wide leg pants, and the big hats!

How To: It's not super warm out yet, but if you're up for it then start to break out your springtime dresses! Check out this one from Topshop, and layer with sheer tights, socks, and heels. Or, instead of heels, try these high wedges. Throw on a big button-up shirt (Erica is wearing her mom's) and add a carry-all shoulder bag in a fun print!
