FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Roberta Harrich

Fashionista Spotlight

Today’s Fashionista has her street style look locked down. She sports all the elements of a cool downtown outfit: wedge sneakers, casual layers, a slouchy beanie and little bit of fur. I love how the look is so laidback yet feels really put together. Plus, leggings and sneakers are pretty much the most comfortable things to wear to class besides pajamas and UGGs (which no respectable NYU student would wear anyway, right?). Combining personal style with everyday practicality is what being a CollegeFashionista is all about. Of course, the wedge sneaker has been on trend for a while now and this Fashionista demonstrates exactly how to wear it. Read more about her below!

Name: Roberta Harrich

Year: 3rd semester Master’s student

Major: Psychology

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?

Roberta Harrich: I would say that I like to wear comfortable clothes, but sometimes with cute details like bows or glitter or spikes.

CF: Where do you shop?

RH: I love to shop at H&M and Zara, I would say. Also, H&M has an additional brand in Europe called Cos; this is where my hat is from and they have cashmere stuff…it’s a bit more expensive and so much nicer.

CF: What inspires your style?

RH: I read a lot of fashion blogs, I must say. I love Olivia Palermo, I love Chiara Ferragni; it’s the blogs, mostly.

CF: What’s your favorite season for fashion?

RH: Summer, definitely. I need sun; I need warmth. I love wearing shorts — it’s too cold for me now.

How To: Take a cue from this Fashionista and keep it comfortable. Pair leggings with a long T-shirt and layer on a jacket or two. Wedge sneakers will give you some extra height except you can still easily speed walk to your next class if need be. To add a little fur to your get-up, try this faux fur lapel collar from ASOS. You are now the queen of street glam. As always, don’t forget your headgear.
