I spotted today’s Fashionista on a gray, wet day that had a lot of people on campus looking sartorially uninspired. Can’t blame ‘em. However, this Fashionista pulled together a simple look that had her standing out from the rest. Instead of wearing a chunky hood or using an umbrella, she shielded herself from the light rain with a black beanie. The rest of her ensemble is black too, except for a red varsity style jacket with gray sleeves. It’s a comfortable outfit that’s perfect for class and a misty day. Read below to find out more about this Fashionista.
Name: Oi Yi Chan
Year: Junior
Major: Management Marketing/Spanish/Jewelry Design
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Oi Yi Chan: I don’t have a description for it. Just anything I’m comfortable with. I like simple stuff. Sometimes colorful and bright — I love red.
CF: Where do you shop?
OYC: Everywhere around Soho. Any store like Urban Outfitters, Aldo and Topshop.
CF: What are some of your favorite things in your wardrobe?
OYC: I don’t know why but I like my rain boots. I like Dr. Martens, my shoes — love my heels. I mainly love my shoes more than anything else.
CF: What’s your favorite season for fashion?
OYC: I like fall a lot because you can dress a little thicker some days and not as much the other days.
CF: What’s your favorite makeup brand?
OYC: I like Tarte because it’s natural. It’s closer to the organic side but it’s not completely organic. I really like Tarte.
How To: Pair black skinny jeans or leggings with black boots. Get a little edgy with this studded motorcycle pair. Then layer a cozy hoodie underneath a red varsity bomber jacket. To hold all your books, notebooks and snacks, upgrade from your tired tote bag or old messenger bag to a leather backpack. Finish off your look with a black beanie. This one says “love me” on it in case you were looking for one that wasn’t so plain.
