Name: Ryan Grove

Major: Political Science

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearig today?

Ryan Grove: My pants are Orisue and my shirt is Izod, both from Karmaloop. Obviously my shoes are Converse.

CF: I love that watch, who's it by?

RG: It’s Marc Jacobs, I like it cause it’s so casual. It’s easy to wear so it’s pretty much always on my wrist.

CF: What inspires what you wear in the morning?

RG: I’m really just about being comfortable, that’s my main thing. I’m studying to hopefully become a lawyer someday, so I’m letting myself dress casual while I still can.

CF: How do you choose outfits that are comfortable but don’t give off a lazy, uninspired vibe?

RG: Well, you don’t have to wear sweatpants to be comfortable. Jeans and pants that fit well with a shirt like this one is casual but it doesn’t seem like you don’t care what you look like. I also like wearing my Converse because theyre just as comfortable as any tennis shoe but they work for everyday occasions, not just at the gym.

CF: Is there any celebrity or fashion icon that inspires you?

RG: I really like how Cam Newton dresses, he has swag! He's classy when he's dressed up but he also looks trendy when he's dressed down.

How To: To dress down your more classy slacks, focus on your accessories. With a plastic based watch and casual street shoes you can take your look from office professional to a more relaxed look appropriate for the classroom. In the summer, I recommend wearing your khaki pants cuffed with your favorite boat shoes. An untailored shirt is also key to this informal look. V-neck and printed T-shirts are great but don’t forget to mix in a cardigan over a plain top on chilly days. No one ever said you have to sacrifice comfort for style, sometimes dressing down is equally impressive.
