FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Madison Rozell

Fashionista Spotlight

The worst thing about the fall semester is that it starts right in the middle of the hottest summer days. This week’s Fashionista shows us how to dress appropriate for class, while still staying cool. She paired her neon orange shorts with vintage print beater underneath a tied up jean shirt. Her accessories show off a daring side with a mixture of teal and gold bangles and a large royal blue statement ring. She even mixed her neon tones with an electric pink satchel. Not to mention, it was love at first sight when her giraffe print scarf caught my eye.

Name: Madison Rozell

Major: Sports Management

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Sports management huh? How do you pick out an outfit for class that says “I’m a girl, but I can still talk sports.”?

Madison Rozell: HA, people always tell me I’m too girly for this major, but the truth is I can totally keep up with the guys in any conversation about sports… especially basketball! I don’t know, I guess I just always pick out an outfit that is cute but more importantly comfortable. I want to look nice, but never like I’m trying too hard.

CF: I notice that you love to accessorize, what’s your favorite back to school accessory?

MR: Scarves, I wear them with anything any everything.

CF: Where’d you get the one you’re wearing now by the way?

MR: Um, I think I got it earlier this summer at Nordstrom – BP section.

CF: If you could give any style advice to incoming freshman, what would it be?

MR: You don’t have to wear Mankato apparel everyday, and the lanyard around your neck… dead giveaway.

How To: To imitate this Fashionista’s vivid, multi-colored get-up, simply go into your closet and find your most contrasting pieces and put them together. It’s still okay to wear your neon pinks, bright yellows, and definitely your short shorts – no one wants to sweat all day in a non air-conditioned lecture hall. Fall semester may be in full swing, but it’s still the summer season, so make sure your outfit is as bright as you are in the classroom.
