This week’s Fashionista shows off a classic, preppy look perfect for any school day. With a unique combination of fall colors, her outfit complements the leaves falling off the trees. Her black, high-waisted shorts are ideal for the ultimate preppy look. She pairs them with an ocean blue T-shirt with a bow detail at the collar and an olive and navy accented cardigan. She tops off her look with a checkered Burberry watch and adorable mustard yellow loafers.

College Fashionista: I love your look, describe how you decided on your outfit this morning.
Brittney Muzik: I love looking put-together and most of my outfits are pretty preppy, so I guess everyday I just follow that trend. Today I wanted to break out my new loafers, so I used yellow as the pop of color and then just added neutral pieces from there.
CF: Your loafers are awesome, where did you get them?
BM: I got them at Gap this summer, I think they were even on sale.
CF: What other stores do you go to for your preppy pieces?
BM: Well Gap is probably my favorite, but I also love Lacoste and I sometimes find good deals at American Eagle.
CF: What inspires you to take fashion risks?
BM: Well, I’m not very risky when it comes to my clothes actually. I've always dressed very girly in colors and patterns that complement my hair and skin tone. I guess what inspires me the most is the season, I wear what’s popular depending on the time of year.
How To: To get this Fashionista’s preppy look make sure you're well aware of colors and patterns that flatter the fall season. Neutral colors will always work, but don’t be afraid of bright colors that pop. Mustard yellows, rust reds and even vivid shades of blue are perfect for giving your outfit the pizzazz it needs. When it comes to individual preppy pieces, go with slim ankle pants in fun colors, loafers with unique details and of course classic blazers make any outfit go from street to chic. This preppy look is a great way to make your professors and fellow classmates envy your classic sense of style.
