My name is Caroline Chitty and I am a senior at Villanova University. I am so excited to be apart of CollegeFashionista for yet another semester. I am also excited to join the other Villanova Style Gurus to write about Villanova’s own personal style. Villanova has plenty to offer, and I am excited to show it everyone what Villanova is donning.
I am an English major with a Business minor but with a passion for style and trends. It all began when I took Fashion Art for Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Going into my sophomore year of high school I had an interest in fashion, and these classes helped guide me in the right direction. Leaving FIT that summer I was aware of two things. I loved fashion, but I loved reporting it and discovering it, as opposed to physically creating it. Now here I am, a senior in college, and this passion has not faded.
The opportunity to join the CollegeFashionista team could not have come at a better time. As I entered Villanova University, I found myself following the trends of my peers instead of keeping to my own true style. As I made my way through Villanova and matured, I realized I could forge my own path in terms of style. I will always be true to my bohemian beach style, coming from the beaches of New Jersey, but everyday I deviate slightly. At the very beginning of my junior year I began embracing the rocker look as I wore my combat boots almost everywhere I went.
As I take more fashion risks, I plan on also finding those students at Villanova who not only exude the preppy look perfectly, but also those who choose other styles. I cannot wait to share with you what I find! I love interviewing Villanova’s Fashionistas and Fashionistos to find out just what they are wearing and the trends that they are sporting.
