FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Madison Twombly

Fashionista Spotlight

Could camouflage be the new black? This stylish student donned the trendy print on an unexpected 70 degree January day in Kansas. As we all know, prints were all over runways for this year, and camouflage is one of my favorite patterns. I love how Madison paired her printed pants with a denim top to keep it balanced.

Name: Madison Twombly

Year: Senior

Major: Graphic Design

College Fashionista: Tell me about your outfit. How would you describe your personal style?

Madison Twombly: Definitely traditional or classic, with a little bit of an edge.

CF: Where would you say is your favorite place to shop in Lawrence?

MT: I love Hobbs on Massachusetts’s Street. I think they carry brands that you wouldn’t find anywhere else in Lawrence. It’s not your usual Gap or Old Navy, you can walk in there and get something that not everyone is going to have on.

CF: I love your pants. Where did you get them?

MT: They’re from Target! I got them for like, 12 dollars.

How to: With Target’s new collaborations with designers such as Jason Wu, Diane Von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs, it’s now officially the most dangerous place to grocery shop. The last time I went in for some bananas I ended up with Jason Wu leopard slippers and a set of new Tracy Reese plates. Luckily, camouflage can be found on just about any article of clothing in tons of other stores right now. To get Madison’s cute military look, go for anything dark green and pair it with something bright and feminine. Balancing girly and masculine always creates the best outfits.
