“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak,” Rachel Zoe once said. My name is Caitlyn Warakomski and I am one of the newest Style Gurus at Temple University. I am currently a Junior studying Communications with a concentration in Advertising. You can always find me around campus dressed up wearing an ensemble that expresses my mood of the day.
I have been passionate about fashion throughout my adolescent years into my young adulthood. When I was in high school my mother took me to the thrifts stores in the area on Saturday morning. I began to piece the vintage styles of the 1960s with the modern looks of the twenty first century, which allowed me to uncover my true passion for style and fashion. My style is inspired from the everyday people that surround me, which has also lead me to my sincere interest in working with CollegeFashionista.
My personal style has been through many incarnations. Of course, I loved the Pretty Pretty Princess accessories and costumes when I was a child and Abercrombie & Fitch kids jeans when I was in middle school (mostly because those were the only pair of jeans that actually fit me). in my early high school years typical band T-shirts, straight leg jeans, and a beat up pair of Converse sneakers seemed to be the perfect look. After that, I truly started to blossom into the aspiring Fashionista that I am today. I’ve always had a unique twist to my wardrobe, but starting the last two years of high school I began to truly uncover my interest and passion for the fashion world.
Today, my typical style includes pieces that are sophisticated and chic. The must have items in my closet are a pair of skinny jeans from classic denim to floral print, a loose fitted white T-shirt, a blazer, a funky statement necklace and of course the perfect pair of pumps.
I absolutely love fashion, style and trends and I'm eager to learn more about the industry through CollegeFashionista. I'm constantly dreaming about the next piece of clothing or accessory I must have every single day. For me, fashion is fun and rewarding. It allows me to be creative, express myself, and show my confidence all in one.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Style Guru team at Temple University. I look forward to kicking off summer 2012 by writing the “Accessories Report “every Friday. See you guys on campus!
