According to GQ, you can always judge a man by his shoes. For example, if he is wearing a savvy suit paired with cheap, scuffed-up dress shoes. Forget it. If you do not know that is a complete don’t in the fashion world. The more that I think about it I have to agree with this statement 100 percent. Looking back there has been very few times where I couldn’t judge or gather information from a man’s pair of shoes. Speaking of, I am writing this post in Temple University’s on-campus coffee shop where I just spotted a college student in line wearing a pair of navy converse that look extra crisp and clean. This could either say he has quite a shoe collection like Carrie Bradshaw, or he just bought a brand new pair of shoes. A couple people behind him stands a middle age man. He is wearing a sport jacket very well with slacks, and sleek boat shoes. This could say he is a professor on campus who seems to be a pretty laid back guy (with a good sense of style, of course). Anyway, the bottom line is GQ has a great point. You can always judge a man by his shoes.
When I spotted this Fashionisto, James, I immediately noticed his effortless yet completely trendy look. He paired a comfortable Barneys grey T-Shirt with sleek black satin Ralph Lauren Black Label stealth cargo pants. He topped his look of by wearing a black casual, yet sophisticated Belgrade boot that is also by Ralph Lauren Black Label. One thing that I absolutely love about James’ look is the fact that the minor details in his outfit such as the rolled pant leg and the hairstyle gives the outfit a whole new, sophisticated and carefree vibe.
To achieve this look, pick out your favorite comfortable T-Shirt whether it is H&M, Express or Barneys. Then, try and pair it with some clean-cut black satin pants like these from Ralph Lauren. For a more college-friendly budget try to immitate the look with these great slacks by H&M. Lastly, top of your look with the Belgrade boot by Ralph Lauren Black Label. This black leather Chelsea Boot from Express is also a great accessory to top of the look in a budget friendly way.
