WHAT TO WEAR: Study Group

What to Wear

Most students are slowly getting back into a set routine after a much needed winter break. Some classes may start to assign an absurd amount of work while others may forewarn test dates and projects. Although the thought of studying isn’t very alluring, it can turn a tedious task into a social experience when done in groups. Not only can the group help its members with difficulties, it also gives its members a reason to change out of the go-to study uniform: sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

This Fashionista is dressed perfectly to meet up and form a study group with classmates somewhere on campus. While the outfit is casual and put together, it still offers the comfort Fashionistas/os crave when studying (at least I know I crave it!) She layers a short sleeve, cropped sweater over a contrasting chocolate brown top, giving off a chic yet laidback vibe. Paired with dark wash skinny jeans and toffee brown boots embellished with buckles, she creates a warm color pallet similar to that of a box of chocolates. She adds a touch of glam with her rose gold Fossil watch — the perfect accessory for a study group. Rather than constantly looking at her iPhone for the time (and getting distracted by social media and text messages), she can glance at her wrist to keep track of time. To finish her look, she keeps her makeup simple and pins back her hair, which prevents it from getting in her way while studying.

The key to dressing for a study group is dressing comfortably without looking like you just woke up from a nap (even if that’s the case). Boyfriend jeans are a great option due to their looser fit, and when paired with a cute button-up you’ll be hitting the books in style. Guys, loose fitting jeans and a flannel provide the perfect balance between comfort and structure. Have fun studying!

One Simple Change: Swap the sweater for a chic blazer and add a long pendant necklace to add a sense of sophistication. You’ll be ready for a casual date night with the girls or a busy day of shopping and dining.
