Style Guru Bio: Brittany Fowler

Style Guru Bio

Two words that dominate my life: fashion and fitness. My name is Brittany and I am a rising junior at Syracuse University majoring in Magazine Journalism with a minor in Sociology and Nutrition. In addition, I’m also completing a Fashion and Beauty Communications milestone (I told you, fashion and fitness). I’ve been writing for CollegeFashionista for over a year now and have been an editor for a semester, working for this site is both a rewarding experience and a strong source of inspiration. Street style not only reflects an individual’s personality, but also a fraction of a society’s culture. It’s always fun reading about how different people interpret trends and how they incorporate them into your own personal style.

I find that both fashion and fitness are fun and interesting ways to express who I am. My style is always changes depending on the day and what I plan to wear that day. If I know I’m short on time I may wear my workout clothes to ensure I will get to exercise. However, if I wake up before the sun and finish my workout early, perhaps I’ll pull on a pair skinny jeans with a plain white tee and flats. Regardless of my outfit, I always wear some sort of accessory to dress up my look, accessories are the cherries on top of my outfits. Whether, I decorate my arm with layers of bracelets, wear a chunky necklace or wear a killer pair of heels, accessories are always my go-to.

Even when I’m working out (which is everyday) fashion is taken into consideration with an extensive workout schedule, including Zumba, Kickboxing, Bikram Yoga and lifting just to name a few. My workout wardrobe seems to grow on the daily. My mentality is I’m doing something good for my body, so why not look good while doing it?

This summer I’ll be exploring the fashions of Southern California and scoping out a wide variety of accessories. I’m ready to capture the west coast fashion scene and get inspired under the California sun (after I run on the beach of course!).
