STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Emerald Effect

Style Advice of the Week

During these cold winter months, I find myself reaching for the simplest of colors. Without even thinking twice, I wear the same colors over and over. Black, brown and gray overwhelm my wardrobe and I find it terribly hard to find the motivation to add a pop of color. However, the popular color of this winter season is emerald. At first, I thought the emerald trend would fade out in a few weeks with it being such a statement and bold color. Recently, I’ve changed my mind.

This Fashionista blew me away with her bold choice in adding emerald to an otherwise seemingly casual outfit. I would never have thought to add peach and emerald accents together, but the pair go together like oil and vinegar. Separately, both are good, but together they can create something great. I love how unique the combination is and how simple it is to recreate. Add a chambray shirt to a classic pair of jeans and a cute pair of loafers to start. Then all you need is a little dusting off of your colorful spring clothes storage boxes and voilà! You have a simple and chic wintry outfit. Don’t be afraid to add a little color to your wardrobe this winter.

Emerald is here to stay. The best part? Emerald is one of the few universally flattering colors on everyone. It brings out the vibrancy in any outfit and is an excellent complementary color. If you’re not head over heels quite yet, try choosing simple accessories to incorporate the color into your wardrobe. If you’re already in love, consider a fabulous emerald dress for your next big event.
