Dressing cute for a day on campus always seems like so much extra effort. We persuade ourselves that it saves so much time to just throw on a hat and sweats and go. For those of you who are ready to spice up your classic look, I’ve got news for you. Styling up your everyday look doesn’t have to take an extra hour! I found this Fashionista who had the art down to fifteen minutes.
Name: Kristen Wehmeyer
Major: Business Marketing
Year: Senior
CollegeFashionista: What inspired your outfit today?
Kristen Wehmeyer: It was a warmer fall day so I decided to go with a skirt! But considering Missouri whether is so unpredictable, I wore the jean jacket in case I get cold (which happens very easily). And since it is fall, I wanted to throw in a red scarf with a matching red watch. The brown boots and purse just went with my outfit and boom! Outfit accomplished.
CF: You seem to have it together. How would you describe your personal style?
KW: My personal style is trendy chic with a flare of western attitude in it! I love showing a bit of my country roots in the outfits I pick out.
CF: What would you consider your staple pieces in your closet?
KW: My staple pieces for fall are leggings and a large comfy sweater! It is easy and cozy for class or even works when I need to look nice for a meeting.
CF: What’s your favorite trend currently?
KW: My favorite trend right now is tassels! Whether in purses, boots, shirts or vests, I am loving that look.
How To: Snag this Fashionista’s comfortable country look by choosing a versatile chambray denim button down like this one. Add a flirty lace skirt like this one and top it off with some fringe accessories like a bag or scarf. Don’t forget some drool worthy western boots! Put it all together and you’ve got yourself a simple, chic and hassle-free outfit.
