A trend that I'm obsessed with this Fall is FUR. Fur vests have been college campuses around for the past few fall and winter seasons, however fur accessories and other articles are such a sophisticated way to amp up an outfit for day or night. I loved the fur moment, but the thing that really caught my eye was the way she styled it with a patterned silk top with parachute sleeves. A skinny black pant and textured leather boots with snuggly socks perfectly peeking out, offered a subdued bottom half without being boring. I had to ask more about this Fashionista's insight in Fall fashions.

CollegeFasthionista: What are your favorite ways to wear fur?
Marlo Marisie: I love wearing it with a simple outfit because it is such a statement piece in itself, or paired with something with a tribal print. So either with a dark, or printed, dress and ankle booties for, or black skinnies and a long sleeved top or knit sweater and high boots for day.
CF: What items do you have in your closet that you love to layer?
MM: I love layering my chambray shirt with cardigans or blazers and my gold sequin top under anything it will peep out of.
CF: What is a go-to item for you that combines style and winter practicality?
MM: Can't pick one!! For a casual look, I love an oversized cable knit sweater. If I'm trying to be a bit sexier, I love a leather mini or shorts with tights.
How To: To rock a look like Marlo's this winter, start your search for a good fur vest. Faux is totally okay (and the only option within a college budget!). While most girls usually style theirs with a basic tee underneath, you should set yourself apart like this Fashionista did by layering yours with a chic silk top. With layering like this, keep it simple on the bottom. Throw on your favorite column boots and a great pair of dark pants. Think about steering away from basic black or denim— give a color a shot. Lastly, peek some socks out the top of your boots for a final layered touch to your outfit and you'll be ready to take on the winter weather with style.
