I am really happy to be on board with the CollegeFashionista crew for another semester. Spring term was a lot of fun and a bit hectic but I came out of it a senior. I’m not going to lie, the thought of that terrifies me. Real life in a year? I have no clue how I’m going to pull everything together to find a real job, my own apartment, some new friends and an overall new lifestyle. The part of me that isn’t panicking, however, is quite excited and thinking ahead, which is why I am interning in New York City this summer.
My love for fashion and writing and advertising is all coming together this summer with an amazing internship at Lloyd and Co. Advertising. Being surrounded by incredibly creative and motivated people is making me learn valuable skills and finally find people who I can really look up to. Though my future is still undecided, it is reassuring that I’m getting a slight push in the right direction (or at least I hope so).
Spending every work day in SoHo and my weekends on the Upper East Side is expanding my sense of style vastly. I am constantly inspired by the various fashions that I see in the city. I am certain that there are no two people alike here and it makes this experience exhilarating. I am hoping to rope in some fashion from all different people so that I too can be as unique as all the other New Yorkers I see.
So, even though I’m nervous about what the future holds, there is one thing of which I’m very certain: there is no place I’d rather be this summer than exactly where I am.
