I think blazers are always a trend that I find around campus but this Fashionista caught my eye because of her pale pink blazer which stood out in the crowd. Wearing a blazer is a great way to dress up an outfit. By accessorizing it with leather boots and jewelry it makes a cute, ready for class outfit that does not require a huge amount of effort but is so much better than sweatpants and a T-shirt. This week’s Fashionista was found walking outside of the fashion building and was dressed to impress for her class.

CollegeFashionista: How do you dress up an outfit?
Chelsea Dopico: I have definitely been adding accessories and then my watch, which I have one in silver and gold and I’m obsessed with them, and my makeup and my hair.
CF: How does being a fashion merchandising student affect the way that you shop?
CD: Actually with all of the classes that we take I find myself looking more and more into everything that I buy. I’ve definitely learned because I used to buy things a lot more frivolous and now I buy a lot more useful and basic things and I just mix them together and then add in more trendy items. I also look more at how things are made and what they are made of.
CF: How do you accessorize an outfit?
CD: I try to mix accessories, jewelry and scarves.
CF: Do you have any staple pieces that you wear all year long?
CD: Probably my boots. I’m obsessed with boots and wear a pair almost every single day. Then blazers, I like to mix them with everything.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
CD: Not too trendy, but more classic mixed with trendier things.
CF: Where do you get you style inspiration?
CD: Pinterest and definitely magazines, my favorite magazine is Glamour so I’m always reading that.
