BEAUTY BAR: Wintery Reds

February 26th, 2016 at 2:00am

My winter makeup looks tend to go something like this: a pale pink lip, a glowy highlight and inevitably pale skin…Rock what you’ve got, right? I’m notorious for keeping my makeup looks the same—and while there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of consistency, it’s always fun to change it up. This makeup Fashionista has the winter look we have all been waiting for. By pairing a dramatic eye with a muted version of the classic red lip, she makes sure she never goes out of style.

If you’re from a cold area like me, you never have to worry about sweating through your makeup for six months out of the year. If you’re from the Midwest, that number is more like seven. That makes winter the best time to try out heavier makeup looks. This Fashionista keeps her face looking fresh with a pretty blush and a subtle highlight, while her eyes take it to the next level. Browns and pinks collide to make a dark makeup that looks perfectly chic when paired with a nice red lip.

Even though the dramatic eye is not a typical daytime look, this Fashionista keeps it casual with her outfit. Rocking a pair of jeans that perfectly complement her lipstick, a casual top (covered with makeup products, no less!) and flat shoes, she successfully transforms a nighttime makeup look into an ensemble that is perfect for class or a weekend outing. The look is tied together with a casual braid and a pretty headband.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To get this Fashionista’s look, pick up a nice matte red lip and your favorite nude eyeshadow palette—don’t forget to make your eyes pop with an inner corner highlight! Lastly, add some color to your cheeks with a pink blush.
