BEAUTY BAR: #WingedLiner

#Wingliner is definitely a thing. Actually, #Wingedliner is more than just a thing, it is a huge how-to lately, and one particular cat winged Fashionista on campus caught my eye. Although we are in the heart of Minneapolis, Sundays typically are pretty vacant on campus. But it was starting to snow, and that calls for the perfect photo moment. This Fashionista was spotted in a plaid cape-like poncho, and an oversized robin blue scarf with a matching Micheal Kors bag. Her hair is up, showing off the beauty details of the cat eyes. Even her nails were done with matching cat claw nails. Me-WOW, this girl is on fire.

The wings, cat eyes—whichever yo prefer to call them—have been around for years. Style icons Marilyn Monroe, Amy Winehouse, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn were some of the greats to flaunt it first. But when you’re a college student and not a celebrity, how does one get the look? If you find yourself trying out this beauty trend of winged eyes at home but cannot seem to get your eyes to look even, there are many tutorials out there with tips and tricks. Tape has been a popular option; even spoons have come into assistance. A pencil will bring forth and easier wing as it will not have the chance of running like the liquid ones.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: This Fashionista’s beauty regime starts with Maybelline BB Cream, with a Bare Minerals concealer and bronzer. The brows are then done with a Maybelline brow pencil. Lashes become voluminous with L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara. Drum roll please, the winged cat liner is done free hand with Stilla’s “Stay All Day” liquid eyeliner. The lips consist of a MAC lip liner, first moisturized with Chapstick. The two colors featured include the red Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish by Kate in the color Rosetto. The more vibrant shade is by Maybelline in the color Pink Pop.
