BEAUTY BAR: Warm Tones for Cooler Days

Life imitates art, right? Well in the art of fall fashion and makeup, that couldn’t be more true. Here in New England, all the leaves have changed their vivid greens into reds and browns. Now I’m not saying anyone was rocking green eye shadow before… but I definitely see lots of reds and browns in the current autumnal makeup looks that are trending! As days cool down, this Fashionista is using darker lips and warm-toned makeup to warm up!

This Fashionista knows that no outfit is complete without a little bit of denim, so to keep warm she layered a classic denim jacket over white sweater dress. The bright white of the dress stands out against the colorful leaves that cover her Boston campus, and against the flocks of students clad in the traditional dark autumn colors. Her monochromatic look is darkened by accents of black in her suede thigh-high boots, choker and hat.

With simple and thin eyeliner to create some contrast, the rest of her makeup look concentrates on keeping it casual. Her minimal contouring adds definition and color to her face while still keeping a natural appearance. Red tones that remind me of fallen leaves bring out her dark eyes, especially with her light blonde hair! Finally, the lip completes the autumnal look! The matte lipstick is only a few shades darker than her normal lip color and is a brown tone to remain neutral. This makeup look is perfect for everyday wear and can go with the most monochromatic or colorful of outfits throughout the fall.
