BEAUTY BAR: Vintage Rouge

Today, my fashion lovers, I woke up in the city that never sleeps! So during the next two weeks, I’ll be on the lookout for amazing street style here in New York City and what better place to find it than in the heart of Manhattan. The excitement is real!

The first stand-out look that crossed my path was created by the Fashionista you see above. Her use of two popular beauty trends that are ruling the scene today was definitely what had me at hello. First off, she is rocking her naturally curly hair like it’s nobody’s business. After so many years of flipping through magazines and finding solely flat-ironed hair, I am so glad that keeping your hair’s natural texture is finally a “thing” now. As a fellow curly head myself, I give this Fashionista major props for pulling this trend off effortlessly. Secondly, let us all take a moment to acknowledge how on-point her lipstick game is. This year has undoubtedly been the reign of everything matte and lipsticks have not been the exception. The matte red hue sported by this week’s style devotee brought the perfect dash of color that her ensemble was missing. Also, I love her attire as much as her use of beauty trends. This Topshop black and white dress and Birkenstock-style buckled sandals helped this Fashionista beat the heat while still looking chic. That precise combination is ideal for a long day amidst the heat wave taking over the city, making her feel comfortable without having to sacrifice any of the “fabulous”.

The Fashionista’s accessory choices gave her modern outfit a cool vintage feel. Her gold earrings and sunnies follow the same early ‘90s vibe as her shoes. Additionally, I must admit that I am a total sucker for black, white, and gold any day; another reason why I gravitated towards this particular look. In conclusion, this trendy gal is ready to take on NYC, no matter what summer might throw her way.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? In order to complete a similar look, you’re going to need some long lasting matte lipstick. Also, don’t be afraid to give your blow dryers and flat-irons a rest (or an R.I.P sign). Dare to embrace your natural hair texture. Just remember to find the right products that will help you make the best of what your momma gave you
