BEAUTY BAR: Tantalizing Teal

Hair and make-up are a girl’s best friend. One of the biggest beauty trends this year is colored hair. Not natural hair colors, of course, fun colors like purple, blue and pink. Sometimes these colors are very vibrant, other times they’re softer pastels. This trend can be seen on celebrities like Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Nicole Richie and, of course, Kylie Jenner. Now this trend isn’t the easiest to keep up with mostly. Dyeing your hair too often can be costly and damaging to your hair. Luckily there are extensions and wigs to help you keep up with the ever changing hair trends.

I spotted this Fashionista wandering around campus with this awesome outfit and flawless head of hair. The first thing I noticed about her was her light brown and faded teal hair. The contrast between the two colors works perfectly with her skin tone and the cut does a great job of framing her face. My favorite part of her hair is that the teal is more of a pastel teal than a vibrant teal. Sometimes a vibrant color with light hair can be overpowering, but this Fashionista picked the perfect shade for her light brown hair.

Her outfit has a very simple minimalist look. She paired a black and white stripped sweater with a black and white stripped top, black leggings and white strappy sandals. Her peek-a-boo teal hair adds a pop of color to the ensemble.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To achieve this look, you need a very skilled hair stylist, I do not recommend trying to dye your teal or any other color on your own. However, if you’re looking for a more temporary look I recommend using colored extensions. You can buy real hair which you can wash, dry and style or you can buy synthetic hair which is cheaper but they do not last as long as real hair extensions. Make sure you choose the right tone for your hair color. If you have dark hair don’t be afraid to choose something a little more vibrant. For lighter hair keep it pastel.
