BEAUTY BAR: Sun Kissed Summer

If you’re lucky, summer means no more homework, no more tests and best of all, no more 8:00 a.m. classes. When it comes to summer makeup, less is more. For most, it’s the only three months of the year where you actually get the chance to relax a little bit. That being said, try ditching the cake face and go for a more natural look this summer. This doesn’t mean you have to have a bare face, but try focusing on accentuating your best features. I guarantee you will get a confidence boost and feel more comfortable in your own skin after doing so.

This Fashionista’s “sun kissed look” makes her skin glow and it didn’t even require a tanning bed. How you might be wondering? One word: bronzer. Bronzer can give your skin a soft, sun kissed effect without the harsh consequences of a tanning bed.

The first step to getting a naturally, sun kissed look is to make sure you have the right bronzer. There is a wide variety of different powder and cream bronzers, but what matters most is the shade. To get the best results, try choosing a bronzer that is two shades darker than your natural skin color. The next step is to apply the bronzer to the regions of your face that are most exposed to the sun with a brush. The bridge of your nose, chin, temples and cheekbones are the key areas. You should never be covering your entire face with bronzer. This will not give you the desired sun kissed effect and you will most likely look like you are just wearing makeup that is to dark for your skin Once you’re done applying bronzer and have fabulous sun kissed skin, add some nude lipstick or lip gloss and a little bit of mascara to complete the look. Remember, less is more and natural beauty is timeless. Embrace it!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To get the sun kissed look, you will need some quality bronzing powder or cream, nude lipstick or lip gloss and mascara.
