The Fashionista I chose to write about for this article is a photographer herself, and while she was loving the mural behind us, I was loving her look. Often when we think of beauty looks, our first thoughts are of hair and makeup. However, a minimalist look can stand out just as much as smoky eyes or bright lips. Her natural hairstyle is complemented by her minimal makeup, opting for thicker, natural looking brows and light mascara. Instead of using extra makeup to draw attention to her face, this Fashionista lets her small ear and nose piercings speak for themselves, adding a little extra edginess to an otherwise casual look.
Since I am a fashion blogger at heart, I want to take a second to talk about her outfit. The light knit scarf, burgundy sweater, and black jeans make this look seem colorblocked, but the shoes draw your attention a little lower. The floral sneakers give both an edgy and girly vibe, perfect for this Fashionista.
While we’re looking down, we have to notice this Fashionista’s ankle tattoo. Skyline tattoos of one’s hometown or favorite city are very popular, but this minimalist design captures the cool look of a skyline and blends it with the magical aspect of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts castle. Any HP fan can appreciate a tattoo that pays tribute to the magical series in such a simple, stylish way.
I mentioned this Fashionista was a photographer, right? Well, if you look while she’s taking her pictures, you can see the tiny galaxy of tattoos on her left wrist. The stars, moon, and planet are simple and cute and add awesome detail to this look. One of the stars is a little more faded than the rest since it is the result of a DIY stick-and-poke tattooing by one of the Fashionista’s friends. When her friend group decided to try this method, done by wrapping a needle in string around the backend of a pencil, dipping it in ink, and sticking and poking the design, they all unanimously decided on the star design and now have a matching tattoo bonding them together. She later added another star to the galaxy, along with the moon and a planet.
I’m not saying everyone should try this at home, and if you do, be sure to sterilize your needle, be very careful, and read up on what you’re doing—but you have to admit that it makes for a really unique beauty look that no one else will have.
