This is my favorite time of year; summer is in full swing and so is the festival season! With Coachella, Electric Zoo and Paradiso having already taken place, and with Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, TomorrowWorld and many more yet to come, this summer is set to be one for the history books. And of course, with great music comes great outfits! There is nothing I love about festivals more than seeing what everyone comes up with and this Fashionista’s space-themed look for the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas was by far one of my favorites.
In a homemade disco-ball bra and equally sparkly skirt, this Fashionista was more than ready to dance the night away under the electric sky. Since her color scheme was mostly silver, she continued the space theme by using metallic eyelashes over a sparkly silver shadow. She then placed star-shaped rhinestones around her eyes to give dimension and a sprinkled glitter for an additional pop. Finally, to keep the focus on her face, she kept her hair pulled back into two high ponytails which also acted as a nod to the ultimate supernova girl, Zenon of the Twenty-first Century. Zetus Lapetus, this Fashionista’s look is out of this world!
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To recreate this look, start with your normal moisturizer and foundation routine. Also, since most festivals are outside, it is always a good idea to add sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Once you have all blemishes covered and cheekbones contoured, then the fun begins! Remember that concerts and festivals are the one time when bigger is better so don’t be afraid to be bold. Using a clear eyelash glue, select rhinestones or flower petals that are a similar color to your outfit and arrange them near your eyes. Several great ideas and tutorials can be found on Pinterest. Due to the heat and the crowd and the sun, pull your hair back into a pony or a braid to keep cool. Finally, throw on some kandi to trade with new friends and you’ll be ready to rave on wherever the summer takes you!
