BEAUTY BAR: So Berry Fall

Fall has made a touch down in the northern hemisphere and has infiltrated the fashion world with darker colors and warmer clothing. Boots, scarves, knee-high socks, sweaters and Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Lattes will be all the rage, as is the classical expectation of the traditions of the season. However, perhaps something that is often missed is the change in makeup routines. While summer constitutes a time for light makeup, a transition is due to take place. The weather is cooler now, so there is no need to worry about makeup melting off or the constant struggle of having raccoon eyes at the end of the day. It’s time for a routine of the heavier sort—one that involves brown hues and dark lip colors.

Fall is definitely a time to intensify the darker shades of brown. The color is so versatile and looks fabulous on all skin colors. Depending on the application, one can go for a natural look or a sultry smokey eye. Check out the Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette  by Too Faced. The colors in this palette are a prime example of what’s “in” this season. As said before, brown hues are versatile for all seasons; therefore, that change alone cannot fully capture the change in routines. What really defines fall makeup are dark lip colors. The lips, in particular, should always be taken into greater consideration than the rest of the face, as lip color is often the altering factor of a look. A woman can look as if she is wearing a full face of makeup, as long as she is wearing lip color. The darker the color, the more defined a girl’s features are exemplified. Fall lip colors include shades of violet, berry and brown. These colors can later transition to the glamorous red of the holidays.

As a tribute to the new season, this daring Fashionista sported a bronze-eyed makeup look with a berry lip ombré. She adds a bit of shimmer to the center of her eyelids and creates a smokey affect with the colors blending from a light to dark shades of brown. Her lips are a work of art. Instead of going for a plain dark lip, this Fashionista decides to create an ombré affect by transitioning from a lighter lip color at the center of her lips to a dark berry color towards the corners. What a beautiful testament to the change in seasons! With her fair skin, this Fashionista definitely reflects mystery and intrigue.
