BEAUTY BAR: Smoking Up a Storm

While I may be more fashion forward than makeup conscientious, I have always been intrigued by the beauty world. I never fail to appreciate another individual’s desire to express themselves, whether it may be soft and natural or bold and daring. When I spotted the fellow friend and peer of mine, she happened to be rocking the simple smokey eye on a warm 60 degrees weather day. This Fashionista paired this look with an off-the-shoulder black top, a piece that will be very popular this upcoming S/S 2017. She also wore jeans, slightly ripped, along with Steve Madden’s trendy leather slip on Ecentrcq.

On a sunny, almost spring day, nothing can complement a girl’s cheekbones like a strong highlighter can. As a girl with skin more on the oily side, I try to apply a minimum amount of highlighter along my cheekbones and nose. This accent is definitely brought out with the help of the soft nude colors on the color palette chosen. It was a clean one and combined effortlessly with the matte nude liquid lipstick called Bleached by LimeCrime. A nude palette is essential this season, especially during the slow transition of winter to spring!

I found that my favorite part of this look was the face makeup she applied. I am obsessing over how The Too Faced Born This Way foundation was filled in so smoothly making her pores appear so small and unnoticeable. The bronzer added a soft contour to even out the skin color and not make it appear as only one tone, a concept crucial to all makeup perfectionists. I would encourage all Fashionistas as well as beauty lovers, who tend to stray towards a one-toned face, to contour their face for a defined and edgy look.

Who can finish a smokey eye without false lashes? This makeup enthusiast scored these affordable and easy to apply Salon Perfect 615 falsies. As a struggling college student, nothing beats a flawless look while also saving a few bucks!
