BEAUTY BAR: Smoke Show

Sometimes, we forget about the small details that really tie our individual styles together. We get so caught up in what we want to wear that by the time you are done getting ready you put on the same finishing touches you always do. The smoky eye technique and basic face contour can turn your already amazing outfit into a perfect look.

It’s important to know that there’s a time and place for certain make-up techniques. Depending on the occasion smoky eye could be your new go-to for any nighttime look or whenever you’re channeling your inner fierceness. It gives the illusion of a cat eye appearance and is a fun way to spice up your regular makeup routine. Face contouring is a fairly new trend that enhances facial features and can even be applied lightly for a more daytime look.

This Fashionista got a 10 out of 10 on her use of smoky eye and contour. Not only does her makeup look great, but also made the entire outfit come together. She used a neutral lip color, which gives her makeup a sleek finish and doesn’t take away from her eyes. Her bright red sleeveless shift dress paired with brown booties worked together to make a hot fall look. Aside from my favorite makeup technique being used her use of a statement necklace is on fleek.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: The recipe to make this smoky-eye goodness would need one eye shadow palate with gradient colors (typically black, dark brown, silver and neutral colors work best). Add one contour palate to make a more dramatic effect that can even be used as a bronzer and foundation uses. Last, add a neutral toned lipstick for a final touch.
