BEAUTY BAR: Ombraid

Fashion is one of the best ways to express your personality, but with fashion comes beauty.  Hair and makeup are the other key features that add to someone’s style.  Hair adds an entire ambiance to the look of an outfit, so finding the perfect hairstyle for you is crucial.  For male and females, having the ability to express yourself through beauty is an amazing opportunity.  There are so many trends in today’s society that allow people to be creative.  Even with all of these trends, we are seeing more people come up with their own ideas of beauty every day.

The ombre style has become a super popular trend today.  We are seeing it in hair, but also in clothing.  Ombre is simply when a color starts to gradually fade into another color.  For hair, we see it in any color whether it is from brown to blonde, blonde to a lighter blonde, or a color fading into maybe purple!  Ombre is an easy way to get creative with you hair without dying your whole head.  If you are not too sure about a color, start off with the ombre to decide if you like it, then you can always go and finish it off.

Finding the perfect hairstyle is often a task in itself for many people.  Some days it is really hot and muggy so girls with frizzy hair (I sympathize) will not want to put an abundance of time into a specific look.  An easy go-to look that does not use heat, keeps the hair out of your face but still looks super cute would be dino braids!  Dino braids are super easy to achieve and look good with almost any outfit.  They can be grunge, chic and even boho.  There is no specific characteristic for dino braids which makes it a popular trend today.  Most people find it  simple being able to express themselves with their hair connecting all the way to the clothes they have on their body.  To make it even better, braids look awesome on ombre’d hair!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR:  If you are attempting to start the ombre look by scratch, it can be a lengthy process.  I ALWAYS recommend going to a salon to get hair dyed if you aren’t sure what you’re doing, but if you’re an expert you can use a box kit.  To create the ombre look, start by bleaching the ends of your hair as high as you would like adding more bleach to the bottom of the hair to make it the lightest.  The longer you leave the bleach in, the lighter your hair will get.  Be careful though, if you leave it in for a long period of time you will damage the ends of your hair, and nobody wants split ends!  After the bleach is thoroughly washed out, you can add a toner to your hair or buy a purple shampoo/conditioning treatment to cancel out the yellow tones and create a more platinum look.  Creating dino braids is similar to creating French braids.  You will split your part down the middle and start a French braid, but you are taking the strands under the hair instead of over.  There are many tutorials on YouTube that will be able to show you exactly how to achieve the braid.  Once you complete the look, finish it off with a light hairspray mist and you are set!
