BEAUTY BAR: Oh Brow

Popular styles are always shifting in the fashion world. One year bell-bottoms may be in style, and the next year we may think we were crazy for ever wearing a pair. Coming from a girl who used to wear socks with sandals, I know this to be very true. This shifting popularity also applies to beauty, more specifically, makeup. In fact, it seems as though makeup trends change faster than fashion trends. I cannot step out of my house without my black winged eyeliner, but maybe in a few years I will look back at my old photos and think I look ridiculous. No matter all these changes, it is always fun to sport looks that are currently in style.

One huge makeup trend has always been the eyebrow. In the ‘60s, Audrey Hepburn dominated the silver screen with her beautiful, thick eyebrows by her side. Hepburn’s eyebrows inspired women all over to start filling in their eyebrows to achieve a similar look. However, by the ‘90s this had changed. The ‘90s were a time of over plucked, thin eyebrows to accompany the grunge style that was popular at the time. Fast forward to today and once again thick eyebrows are in once again and I could not be happier. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Cara Delevingne for helping this dream become reality.

While not everyone is as blessed in the eyebrow department as Delevingne or Hepburn, everyone can still achieve the look of full eyebrows. All it takes to have full eyebrows is a brow pencil or brow gel. The beautiful Fashionista sporting the look does this perfectly. Though her eyebrows look thick, they do not go overboard and still look natural.

One thing that thick eyebrows do is make you look more youthful. While personally, I believe this is great, I understand why some people do not like this. This should not stop you from rocking full eyebrows though. The solution is to pair the eyebrows with a more mature outfit. This Fashionista is a perfect example of how to do so. She paired the outfit with a loose-fitting black dress. Along with this she added a blazer which adds a look of sophistication. To top it off, she added a classic pair of black Converse All-Stars. What helps this Fashionista the most to stay away from a youthful look is the fact that her outfit is all black. The final touch are her classic red lips, which make her look more mature.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: In order to obtain this look you will need some eyebrow gel. The gel makes it easy to apply and lasts all day long. Next is a beautiful red lip in order to derail from a youthful look. Then simply use your favorite mascara to swoop those beautiful lashes sky high. Last is your confidence. Though you may be scared to try a thick eyebrow, try it out and be confident about it.
