BEAUTY BAR: New Hair, New You

Coco Chanel once said, “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” Well, change is here. For decades, generally, a woman’s hair has been known for being healthy and long, making her look glamorous and elegant. Today, however, many people seem to have gotten sick of their long, tousled waves, and are ditching it for a shorter hairstyle. This hair trend has been taking place among celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Alexa Chung, Vanessa Hudgens and many others. A short hair style is a style that any woman can rock. The secret is finding the right cut for your face shape and hair texture.

In the case of this Fashionista, she appears to have a rounder face. The perfect hairstyle for her is a long bob. A long bob is classified as a bob that falls between the mid-neck and the shoulders. The goal for a woman who has a rounder face and short hair is to create the illusion of an oval face. By having hair that is an inch or two below her chin, her hair will draw the eyes downward, making the face appear elongated. And since she has thicker hair, she would want a shorter hairstyle. If she were to have long hair, it would weigh her roots down making her hair appear flat and dull.

This type of hairstyle works best on straight and wavy hair, but it looks good on all hair textures (even curly). It’s a versatile cut because you can wear it air dried or flat ironed.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To achieve this look, you would want to cut it just a few inches below your chin. But, of course, you would want to clean it up by adding some sea spray for more volume and a textured look. The Fashionista suggests to wear something bold and edgy like her leggings and fur-like cardigan since no hair is taking away the spotlight of her outfit.
