BEAUTY BAR: Match Made In Heaven

Playing dress up every morning is all in a days fun as a Fashionista/o. With countless options in your very own closet, picking and pairing different items of clothing is what makes getting dressed every morning exciting. A simple pair of shoes can complete an outfit or bring it from day to night.

Just like a pair of shoes can transform an outfit, makeup can also spice up any look. Makeup has the ability to be one of the most powerful accessories. This Fashionista’s beauty look is one to adore. By using matching, rose-hued cheek color and lipstick, her casual (and cute!) look is pulled together into eye-catching harmony. The feminine beauty look is a unique contrast to her black-based outfit and leather cross-body bag.

To match your blush and lipstick like this fab Fashionista, make sure you first choose colors that don’t clash, but work together to brighten your face and give you a healthy glow. You want to make sure the colors you choose aren’t too matchy-matchy, but instead complement each other beautifully. To do this, look for similar warm undertones or cool undertones.

Our Fashionista chose a rosey rouge with a nude-colored rose lipstick. Although they are very similar in color, they aren’t too matchy. Instead, they compliment each other to make a heavenly pair. To complete the look, she made sure to fill in her eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil and used lash-lengthening mascara.

Although Iowa summers can be unforgiving to your makeup, you don’t have to find yourself stuck with a melty mess. This Fashionista suggests using a foundation primer, as well as a setting powder. These products ensure your beautiful look stays all day long, heat and humidity to boot.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: Matching your lipstick and blush is a unique and feminine way to achieve a healthy glow. Make sure to pay close attention to similar undertones when matching your lip color and blush. And remember: Even on a bad day, there’s always lipstick.
