BEAUTY BAR: Let it Glow

Recently I’ve come face to face with a serious issue. The summer heat is taking my makeup from hot to not in a matter of minutes. It’s to the point that in the time it takes me to walk to my car, my look is already done for. So what does it take to have glowing, bronzy skin that will last? That’s the million-dollar question. I got together with this week’s Fashionista to find out how to get the perfect summer glow that will look good all day long.

Before we even think about putting anything on our face it needs to be clean. Clean skin can make a huge difference in the way makeup applies and the longevity of it. Your skin naturally builds up dirt and oil and releases toxins throughout the night, so cleansing it in the morning is a must.

This Fashionista told me her go-to products for beautiful skin that doesn’t budge are; primer, setting powder and setting spray. Primers are formulated to create a smooth canvas for your foundation, it gives it something for your foundation to hold to so it can last all day long. Setting powder makes the biggest difference for this Fashionista. It keeps her makeup in place and keeps her liquid foundation from sliding off her face in the summer humidity. She places a translucent powder over her concealer and foundation to keep her skin smooth and soft. Setting spray is basically the icing on the cake. Each one is a little different, but over all it helps your makeup last long and gives off a beautiful glow.

Golden and bronzy tones are this Fashionista’s go-to for the summer. She starts by adding some blush to her cheeks. Moving on, she brushes some highlighter on her cheeks, nose, chin and even some on her collarbone and shoulders. To bring the whole look together she put a golden shadow on her eyes to finish off the look.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: This Fashionista gave me the details on all of her favorite products that she used for this look. For a primer she is wearing La Base Pro by Lancôme. She sets her foundation with the Laura Mercier translucent powder and finishes it off with the Urban Decay All Nighter makeup setting spray. For her bronzy glow she used the new Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. She used the color ‘Amaretto’ on her cheeks and ‘Champagne Pop’ as her highlighter.
