BEAUTY BAR: Keeping It Short And Sweet

It seems like everyone is going short. From Lauren Conrad to Emma Stone, celebrities are cutting their hair super short. With the hot summer heatwaves in full swing, the short hairstyle manages to serve the dual purposes of both practicality and style.

This summer there’s two different kinds of short haircuts that seem to be taking over the runway: the bob and the lob, or long bob. The bob, which is a style that dates back to the ’20s, is approximately chin length. It comes in variations, such as the A-line bob which is a style that is typically shorter in the back and longer and the front, and the sharp bob which is cut straight across. The bob has been made famous by many celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez and Rachel McAdams. The lob, or long bob, is just that—a long bob. It essentially is a medium length hairstyle that can be shoulder or collarbone length. It has been seen on many formerly long haired celebrities from Lucy Hale to Lauren Conrad. Lobs can be very versatile, and can be worn with curly or straight hair.

This Fashionista is currently rocking the lob look. She is currently wearing her hair straight, which looks good in any outfit, whether it be a casual one or a more dressy. Today, she chooses to be more casual, as she heads off to one of her summer classes. She accomplishes this look with a simple pairing of a T-shirt and jean shorts, and tops it off with a Longchamp purse. However, straight hair isn’t her only option. Depending on her mood, she can wear her hair curly, wavy or straight. Having a bad hair day or a lazy day, she can just throw on a headband and call it a day.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To recreate this look, all one needs is a really good blow dryer and a round hairbrush. Spray on some hairspray for a finishing touch and you’re ready for an easy day of style!
