BEAUTY BAR: Ink Up

Tattoos haven’t always been as accepted as they are now. They had a bad rep with criminals and prostitutes. But, now they are seen as an art form and have been making their way into the fashion world as a new beauty or accessory trend.

A tattoo is more than a hidden meaning. It’s a piece of art on the canvas of your skin. It’s also an addition to your style and the look of all your outfits. We can look to fashion icons, such as Marc Jacobs and Cara Delevingne, for inspiration.

Marc Jacobs has put a lot of thought into each of his tattoos. They represent significant relationships and moments in his life. He has a personal relationship with his tattoo artist. He has hired his tattoo artist before for his Spring 2011 collection to design temporary tattoos and designs on his bags. We can also at Alexander McQueen and Maison Margiela for inspiration.

Tattoos are an accessory. And summer is the perfect time to show them off. This fashionista shows them off perfectly. First, she wears all black to draw the attention to her tattoos. Then, she wears a low-back tank top to show a little skin along with some tattoos.

After getting her tattoos, this fashionista went out and bought clothes that she knew would show off her new ink! Each one has a personal meaning so why hide them?!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To get this look, you don’t have to get permanent tattoos. You can get temporary tattoo or henna kits. If you’re artistically inclined, you can even just use a Sharpie! Flash tattoos are also a great option. They’re perfect for the summer festival look! If you’re looking into getting a tattoo, check out your local tattoo parlors. You can even get your own tattoo kit, but be safe! Turn your skin into a part of your outfit!
