One of my favorite trends is combining a girly item with its counterpart. This Fashionista balanced her feminine makeup look with a grungy ’90s-inspired outfit. The two joined to create a gorgeous, versatile result.
When wearing a bold lip color, it is important not to go overboard with the rest of your look. This Fashionista paired the beautiful berry color with a neutral smoky eye and a subtle winged eyeliner. She decided to use a full coverage matte foundation to create an overall matte makeup look with just a little shimmer on the eyes. Finally, she used some bronzer (a girl’s best friend during winter in the Midwest) to give herself some color and definition.
Because of the bold makeup, she stuck to a black and white outfit that is far from plain. She is wearing a striped crewneck tee, black skinny jeans, a faded black denim jacket, a wide brim felt fedora and platform Steve Madden booties. She opted to keep the accessories minimal to go for a laid back vibe.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this look, you need a deep-colored liquid lipstick in a matte finish. The liquid lipsticks provide smoother application and longer lasting color. She paired this plum lip with a neutral smoky eyeshadow look. Add some bronzer to contour and very black mascara for the dramatic false lash effect.
