BEAUTY BAR: Elegantly Edgy

As the days get shorter, the nights get colder and fall slowly fades into winter; it’s easy to start to feel a tad bit gloomy as the season begins to change. This time of year is always very stressful with homework, papers and finals, so for any stressed-out college student, finding the motivation to go to class and study can be quite difficult. An easy solution to still feel confident as the weather gets a bit chilly, is to change up your everyday hairstyle.

For me, one way I always feel put together for school or work is when my hair is done. I always feel my best when I like the way my hair looks. It’s so simple to change your look to whatever mood you’re in and take on the day! Trying out new and different hairstyles is a fun way to show off your personality and give you confidence to feel good throughout the day! This Fashionista rocks this edgy-yet-chic hairstyle fearlessly as she takes on the chilly New York days.

As the winter approaches, it’s always fun to dress a bit darker and this Fashionista has the perfect outfit that is both simple and edgy. Her light wash olive jeans give off a grunge feel to this look as she pairs them with a simple black top and a great leather jacket. Her black booties really complete this outfit, as they give a more dressed up feel to this simple look. This outfit can easily be worn everyday or even for a great girls night out!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To get this Fashionista’s look, you’ll need a great curling iron and a few bobby pins. Start by curling your hair all over and as the hair falls from the curling iron, twist it around your finger to get a wavier feel to it. Next, take a section at the hairline on the side of your head and begin to French braid the hair until you reach the back of your head. Then secure your hair in place with a bobby pin. Repeat this process until all three braids are complete. To have this hairstyle last all day, spray a light hold hairspray all over the curls, shake it out to give it a more laid-back vibe and you’re all set to go!
