BEAUTY BAR: Crisp Days, Cool Beauty

October 27th, 2015 at 2:00am

With fall having arrived and everyone nearly settled into school, the cool crisp days warrant a warm welcome from students on campus. The leather jackets have emerged, along with bolder makeup taking the place of the summer’s lighter palette. This Fashionista’s hair and makeup create the perfect fall look. Channeling the look of the bold lip and eyeliner that were all over the fall runways, including Monique Lhuillier, and the tousled hair and deep side part, seen at Thierry Mugler, really complements her awesome cool weather outfit.

She put a twist on the classic autumn colors that this season is best known for. Instead of a bold red lip, she paired a smoky eye with a berry lipstick, which perfectly complements her pink top and creates fluidity in her whole outfit. She kept the smoky eye dark to keep a soft balance between the boldness of the pink and the neutrals in the rest of her outfit. Adding a bit of blush pulls the makeup together; the blush is the perfect shade of pink for her skin tone and also goes so well with her lip color. She completes her outfit with perfectly tousled waves.

In the fall, the colors get deeper and darker; maroon, navy blue, browns, deep greens and blacks are frequently seen. With a fairly neutral palette, this Fashionista opted for a bright pink shirt to add a pop of color in the midst of all the usual muted colors of fall. With summer behind us, her deep gold tank top is perfect for that last remaining bit of warm sunshine we are getting here at Saint Mary’s. Her edgy makeup look is complete with a classic black leather jacket.

Her makeup complements her outfit really well, and the color scheme is a cute twist on the usual deeper fall colors. This is also a great day-to-night look. Her whole look is well put together and perfect for a cooler, crisp day.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this look, you need a berry lipstick, a black eyeliner and a blush. Make sure to keep the makeup palette consistent with the rest of your outfit, and apply the blush lightly to add a bit of sweetness to an otherwise edgy look.
