BEAUTY BAR: Color Me Happy

Growing up as a blonde, little Jewish girl, I was taught at a young age that a good manicure is basically everything. I swear I think my mother instilled that lesson before she taught me how to start tie my shoes, BUT with every good manicure, a girl needs a good color.

Before you take your trip to the nail salon there are a few things you should know… we will now quickly address the unwritten rule book to fresh and clean manicures. First, seasonal colors TOTALLY exist. (Winter is calling, they want your Lincoln Park After Dark painted nails back). Second, short nails are in! No more acrylics people…please? And finally, gel nails are a girls’ best friend. Now you’re almost ready for your trip to the salon, but first let me give you a quick color lowdown.

A fab color is key. Typically I always go for a pinkish-white bottle of my favorite color by OPI, “Don’t Burst My Bubble.” I have found that white goes with everything but at the same time don’t be afraid to change it up!! Think summer! For this week’s manicure, this Fashionista decided to channel her inner rainbow and do a gradient pattern of blues! Super fun and festive for any summer day, I am now happy to say that you are ready for that trip to the salon! Just remember, your color isn’t permanent, so don’t stress!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? Nails are super fun and easy, so do not stress while looking at all of the color options thanks to OPI and Essie. This Fashionista got a gel manicure which is quick and easy, but at the same time could be pricey, but thanks to Sally Hansen that is no longer an issue! Try the assortment of Sally Hansen colors most likely found in your local grocery store or Target!
