BEAUTY BAR: Classic like Coco Chanel

My interest in makeup started when I was finishing high school and during the rise of makeup tutorials on YouTube. When I realized that I could learn how to highlight, contour, and master the perfect cat eye all online, my love for makeup grew.

Like any makeup beginner, I turned to drugstore products first because of their inexpensive price and my lack of makeup knowledge. I was not going to spend hundreds of dollars on products I did not know how to use. As I learned more and more about the wondrous world of makeup, I knew what products I could begin to splurge on.

Every college student understands the upsetting sigh that comes when looking at your bank account. However, when it comes to makeup, you need to know when to splurge and what to splurge on.

This Fashionista knows what makeup is worth the purchase. My favorite expensive makeup brand is Chanel, and this Fashionista would agree that it is one of the best. For the high price, the quality is amazing. Lucky enough to have nice skin, she did not need to use a complete coverage foundation, so she opted for the Chanel Les Beige #50. This foundation also includes SPF 25 and, as seen on her skin, provides a healthy, natural glow. She uses the Chanel Coco Codes Blush Harmony for highlight to brighten her cheekbones and for blush to add a bit of color to her cheeks. Her gorgeous smoky eye is accomplished using the Chanel Spring Coco Codes “Codes Subtils” palette.

My favorite parts of this makeup look are her eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. She uses the Calligraphie de Chanel long wear intense cream eyeliner in the color Hyperblack to create a slight wing along her upper lash line. The mascara is my absolute favorite; I even use it myself. It is the Le Volume de Chanel mascara in the color Noir. It provides your eyelashes with intense and instant volume making your lashes look fuller and stronger. This Fashionista finishes off her look with the Chanel Rouge Allure intense long-wear lip color in the shade Ultrarose. This bright red lip ties the whole look together and adds the right pop of color to her black and white outfit.

With many different makeup brands out there at various prices, Chanel is definitely worth the price.
