BEAUTY BAR: Braided Beauty

In the summer heat, I find myself swiping away strands of sweat-drenched hair constantly. Although it’s easy to throw it all up in a bun or ponytail, it’s not always the most fashionable. We’re lucky this summer because braids and long bobs are in and heatstroke is out! This Fashionista finds a way to beat the heat while keeping her hair down by incorporating a French braid and a down do. Her braided headband is versatile and simple, making it perfect for the summer!

Because her hair is pulled away from her face by the braid, she uses the bulk of accessories around her face. This Fashionista attracts attention upward with a statement necklace. Lastly, she doubled the braid power of her ensemble by mimicking her hairstyle with a braided belt.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? In order to get the look, all you have to do is French braid while also creating a waterfall effect. If you don’t know how to French braid, don’t worry; this style is even simpler. You’ll need a comb, hair spray, a bobby pin and a hair tie. Create a horizontal part at the front of your head; the thickness of the part will depend on how thick you want your braid. Starting on your desired side, take a small section of the part and separate it into three sections. Braid regularly, while adding a bit of hair to the right section after each braid. Secure the end with a hair tie and pin it at the nape of your neck. This Fashionista also recommends teasing the hair behind the braid. Volume at the crown gives the look more dimension. Then, you’ll need to secure everything with a good volumizing hairspray.
