BEAUTY BAR: Braid the Heat Away

July 29th, 2015 at 2:00am

As much as I enjoy a warm summer day, there is one thing I would not mind disappearing: the humidity. There is nothing worse than looking into the mirror and realizing it’s a good hair day, only to have that ruined once you step outside and Mother Nature decides it was too good to be true. We all have probably learned by now that when it comes to the weather, all you can do is adapt because controlling it is certainly not an option.

As soon as I saw this Fashionista’s hairstyle, I knew I had to try something like it. Putting your hair in a bun is probably one of the easiest ways to beat the heat, but I loved that this Fashionista added a side braid to make her otherwise simple hairstyle a truly eye-catching one. Not only does it look really cute, but it also helps keep all of your hair away from your face, which is an awesome feeling on a hot summer day.

Besides having a summer ready hairstyle, this Fashionista’s outfit was also perfect for the season. The floral top is great for warm summer days and I really liked how she added the racerback bra because the touch of pink makes it look even more feminine and colorful. The wedges are really comfortable for walking, but they also add a touch of elegance. The espadrilles detail makes it perfect for the summer because it’s a more relaxed look and it’s very fitting for the daytime.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? One of my favorite parts about this look is that recreating it is actually quite simple. Start by making a small dutch braid to one side and slowly follow the path until you reach the back of your head. That’s when you grab all your hair and simply put it up in a bun.
