BEAUTY BAR: Bohemian Wrapsody

I’m particular. When I was younger it was my mom’s natural given duty to transform the hairstyles I mentally envisioned onto my actual head. Bless her heart because the perfectionist side of me wasn’t amused with a few bumps or an off piece, so I took matters into my own hands at around the age of eight. From long hair to short, curly to straight, I experimented with my thick strands as much as my little bathroom and YouTube sources allowed me to. But now that I’m older, have experienced the sunshine before an 8:00 a.m. class and have a complete understanding of what my hair will and will not do, I’ve become more lax. Throwing it up in a high pony, leaving it half up, or my personal favorite- finding a cute headband to keep it out of my face is becoming more ideal.

From Rosie the Riveter’s iconic bandana around her head to Blair Waldorf’s thick headbands from Gossip Girl, these accessories have proven their fashion is here to stay and this Fashionista is right on board. I’m giving two peace signs up to this hippy turned modern’s style. Her homemade patterned wrap is a perfect alternative for the hot summer when you want your hair down but away from your face. Her carefree flow allows her teal studs to show up, which complements her outfit all together. She picks just the right accessories to match up with her pulled back hair and better yet, it probably took her just a minute to put it on.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To get this look, you’ll need a headband. Simple, yes, but go wild with it! Find a crazy bright color to make it the focal point of your outfit, get a delicate jeweled piece to lie across your forehead or cut up an old scarf like this Fashionista, for a fast hair fix.
